Here and There

At the coffee hour on February 24, St. John's was happy to
celebrate The Rev'd Lloyd Prator's twentieth year here as
rector. The Rev'd Samuel Cross gave a tribute to his work
in supporting us through our pains, sorrows, and successes.
Two symbols of St. John's future growth attended, the Misses
Ella DiMeo and Josephine Lorraine. It was discovered that
both shared the same birth date, February l, 2008....Speaking
of birthdays, David De Porte celebrated his on Easter Day.
The next time Easter falls on his birthday will be in 250
years. Again we thank Father Prator for being with us. (He
also preaches good sermons.)
Gerry Dilley spent the first two weeks of April in Egypt visiting
his son Paul, who teaches New Testament, Greek and Coptic

number of Coptic sites where Paul is involved in restoration
work. Next month Gerry will go to New Haven to see Paul receive
his doctorate in Religion from Yale. He will be teaching Ancient
History at Kansas State University beginning in September.
Congratulations to Paul....Susan Harrigan and Peter Benjaminson

in terms of no heat or electricity....Barbara Hutchinson passed
her exams. She and husband Bill celebrated their 25th anniversary
in Rome. Congratulations!....Mary Lou Scott went to the British
Virgin Islands where she will join her brother's college roommate
