Committee Report
The Evangelism Committee has continued to greet visitors
and newcomers each Sunday, sending welcome notes to
those who sign either of our guest books. Additionally,
hospitality events such as barbeques and afternoon teas
were hosted in the Rectory, attended not only also by
the assisting clergy and parish leaders to further welcome
newcomers.
During the past year, Bob White representing the Committee,
presented to the Vestry a proposal for a sign on the
outside of the church to direct people to the Church
entrance and the entrance to the Parish Hall. The Vestry
approved the proposal with funding from both the Church’s
General Fund and private donations, which are more than
welcome and would be greatly appreciated.
During this coming year we will be working on projects
such as reviewing the parish brochure as well as the
signage within the Church, Common Room and Parish Hall.
I was particularly pleased with the review we received
from “Ship of Fools”, based on a visit from
one of their representatives on All Saints Day, November
1, 2008. In addition to the positive feedback concerning
the Church’s hospitality (which brought a smile
to my face), the report was not only highly complimentary
toward our outreach, liturgy, music program but also
our welcoming of those less fortunate and the handicapped.
Lastly but by no means leastly, I would like to thank
the Committee especially the fore mentioned Bob White
for his Vestry presentation as well as the other committee
members Parveen Sondhi, Lorraine Burns, Maureen Crowe,
Pat Hart, Kalindi Thomas, Dina Mann and Deacon Mary
Gregorius for all of their hard work greeting during
the past year.
