People Here and There

by Jeanne Sutton

It’s a delight to hear from folks who have moved away. The following is from a letter received from Fred Harrity:

“It has been a delightful winter here in Celebration, Florida. The temperature ranged between 65 and 75 degrees most days and slightly cooler in the evenings! The winter breeze has been refreshing. In February Sammy and I traveled to Naples, Florida to celebrate my mom's 70th birthday. My sister and her family from Connecticut, and my brother and his family from North Carolina joined us in the surprise. It was great to have a family get-together and again the weekend weather was perfect.

On the job front Sammy was recently hired by Disney to be a part of the attraction team at Disney's Animal Kingdom. He begins his role April 17 and at that time he will get the specifics of what he will actually be doing. Since moving the Celebration in November Sammy has had the task of cooking and keeping our home. He is looking forward to spending time in the park with the many guests from around the world who visit. Speaking of which we hope to see many of you here soon.

On a ministry front, I have been working closely with Integrity to establish a chapter here in Central Florida. The process is lengthly but moving forward. I look forward to providing you more information later.

As always we miss you all and look forward to opportunities to both host some of you and to get back to New York to visit and worship with you. I keep you in my daily prayers and ask that you keep me in yours.

In fraternity and peace I remain,

Yours Truly
-Fred Harrity”

Just after receiving Fred’s letter, there was Sammy Chin in church. Another visitor during April was Jeanne Morrow and it is always good to see and visit with old friends.

The Rev’d Samuel Cross reports that his mother will be coming to New York from Collierville, Tennessee to spend some time with her son over Trinity Sunday and Corpus Christi ... Jeanne Sutton is off to Attica, Ohio to celebrate her cousin Alberta’s 80th birthday. She’ll have a chance to catch up with family members ... Tom Sergott finished entertaining some friends from Alaska and he went to the full dress rehearsal at the Metropolitan Opera of “The Women of the Regiment.”

Congratulations to our organist. In July Gordon King will have a new piece published, “Brother James Air.” ... On April 21st, we welcomed a new member, Ella DeMeo was baptized.
