May 2003 Vestry Report

The "Vestry on Call" program seems to be working well. A vestry member was available every Sunday after the 8 and 11 o'clock services. Your comments, complaints and compliments were reviewed and discussed at the April 12 vestry meeting. While no actions were required, your opinions are important to us and will continue to be given every consideration. Remember, there is a vestry member "on call" every Sunday.

Ellen Wagner resigned as Clerk of the Vestry, citing her duties as vestry member and trustee of the Colony Trust. Ellen is doing a great job reviewing and organizing the Trust history and documents. Lorraine Burns was elected the new Clerk of the Vestry by acclamation. Congratulations, Lorraine and thanks for agreeing to serve.

Parish finances are continuing on plan. The Colony Trust is working to get more income from the trust and the Rector and Vestry are working to keep expenses down. We are currently reviewing plans to repair the staircase in Wainright House and how to fund this capital expense.

The Vestry Planning Conference is scheduled for Saturday, May 3. We will be addressing many of the issues raised in the parish survey, looking at how the parish is governed and structured, our mission and our vision, and plans for growth. Watch this space for a full report
