STEWARDSHIP 2004

Our 150th Anniversary campaign is well underway. Most of you have generously increased the amount of you pledges, but we are still short of our goal and slightly behind 2003.

If you have not yet made your financial commitment for next year and wish to do so, please contact any member of the Stewardship committee: Pam Brown, Fred Bohan, Tim Boos, Maureen Crow, or Michael Rebic

“The First 150 Years” — A Note of Thanks
We want to thank everyone who worked so hard to make last Saturday evening’s gala performance such a success: producer/directors Jared Stamm and Hazel Robinson; readers Anne Auchincloss, Lorraine Burns, Jay Campbell, Dick Corney, Sharon Johnson, Jeanne Morrow, Filomena Riviello, Hazel, Irene Sherrock, Evelyn Simon; singers Jay, Ron DeStefano, Irene, Evelyn, Jared and Archie Worley; John Sheridan for the musical accompaniment on the piano; Irene and Jay for the historical pictorial exhibit in the parish hall; Jeanne, Dick, Irene, and Jay for research; Richard Seeger who manned the box office; Jared for the beautiful posters; Jeanne, Suzanne Culhane and Hazel who together with Pam provided the reception; and all of you who helped with the clean up! The readings and the music were entertaining, nostalgic, and beautifully done. The concept and direction were superb. The food was delicious. Truly a pouring out of time, talent and treasure. Parishioners, guests, and neighbors filled the church, and applause rang from the rafters. Thank you all for your beautiful and generous gift to the parish and the community.

At its September meeting, The Vestry named Suzanne Culhane and Frederick Pattison to the Nominating Committee. The committee members, consisting of the two ex officio members, Father Prator and Morgot Shields [the warden who is not up for election], Suzanne and Fred, met on October 17th and elected Stuart Brier as the fifth member of the Nominating Committee.

The full committee will be meeting to identify and recommend candidates for offices to be filled at the Annual Parish Meeting, which will be held on January 25, 2004.

The vacancies to be filled are as follows: 1 Churchwarden for a 2 year term; 3 Vestrymembers for a 3-year term, class of 2006; and 1 Vestrymember for a 1-year term, class of 2004. The terms of these incumbents expire at the APM: Warden Pam Brown; Vestry class of 2003: Tim Boos, Gerald Lombardi, Nancy Warfield; Vestry class of 2004: Ellen Wagner.

In accordance with recent by-law revisions, the Nominating Committee will be reporting its recommendations to the parish at least 4 weeks prior to the Annual Parish Meeting.

Please feel free to speak with any member of the Nominating Committee.
