Narratives: Havana to New York
John Emmett Connors
Cuban water-colors of John Emmett Connors, co-presented by the Cuban Cultural Center of New York. John Connors' paintings of old Havana are inspired by the energy and vitality of the centuries old streets and squares, and the bustling activity of its citizens. As a street painter John is interested in architecture as evidence of the layers of time, and how Havana's glories and wealth of the past are adapted to the current everyday life of its people. He has also included some New York views.
The sculpture exhibition in St Benedict’s Courtyard by Jerry Torre (Jerry the Marble Faun) continues.
The exhibition runs through the month of July and the Gallery & Courtyard are usually open from 11am to 3pm Mon-Thurs and by private arrangement.
