Saint John's in the Village

An Episcopal Church, where in the name of Christ you are always welcome

The Eve of the Feast of Corpus Christi
Thanksgiving for the Institution of the Eucharist

6.30pm Choral Eucharist, Procession of the Blessed Sacrament, Benediction, Cook-Out
Rector’s Farewell

Following the Eucharist, sung by St John's professional choir, with musical contributions also by TRANScend and the New York Gregorian Chant Project, the Procession of the Blessed Sacrament moves through our neighboring streets. After Solemn Benediction in the church we repair to St Benedict's Courtyard for cook-out.

This liturgy is the Rector's final liturgy at St John's before he moves on to his next position (in the Anglican Church of Australia).

The Celebrant is the Rector. The Preacher is the Reverend Canon Carl Turner, Rector of St Thomas Church, Fifth Avenue.

Music by William Byrd, William McKie, David Yardley, Felix Graham, Buck McDaniel, and Gregorian Chant.

The Vestry has designated the alms plate at this liturgy to be given to Fr Graeme for sabbatical expenses and to endow his discretionary fund in his new ministry. A collection will be taken during the liturgy. Cash is acceptable, as are checks (payable to St John's Church with ‘Corpus Christi’ in the memo line). If you are unable to be present at the liturgy but would like to contribute, please send your check payable to St John’s Church, and write in the memo line: Corpus Christi (Fr Graeme). Or you can do so on-line here:
